I love “Pushing Daisies” for its whimsical, fairy-tale-like structure and pretty set-up. It’s my “comfort food” because it reminds me of my childhood days where I used to lose myself in Enid Blyton’s “Faraway Tree” series. I love the whole idea of a magical tree with magical people who are nice and kind and the adventures the children get into in the “lands” found at the top of the tree. Those of you who have read the series would know what I mean! “Pushing Daisies” isn’t exactly a magical flower story, but it follows the idea of a make-belief world. It may not be the most exciting thriller, but to me, sometimes all it takes is a “feel-good” movie to provide some solace from the cold harsh reality grinding our minds and bodies everyday.

I’ve watched and finished the series same time as the US (lol)
Ch 5 still not so slow, compared to other series like Supernatural. (No longer bothers me since I no longer follow Ch 5′s pace. If I have to wait for them to broadcast, my hair will turn white lol)
I love the witty dialogues and esp. the narration by Jim Dale.
My fave character is Emerson, who’s funny esp. in the “The Fun in Funeral” episode. What’s yours?

if anyone is interested, Pushing Daisies is avaliable (legally) online by the broadcasting company itself (abc channel). just go to abc.com and there’s a whole list of U.S. shows.
Same goes for nbc.com and fox.com
They are the companies broadcasting popular shows like Heroes, Prison Break, etc.

Hi Joanne,
Boy, am I really glad to bump into you at Mediacorp ytd after so long! You see, I’m currently involved in the Channel 5 sitcom known as “Calefare”, that starred Gurmit, Fiona, and Benjamin (whom you know as ‘your kor-kor’ in Beach Ball Babes). What time did you finish, may I ask? We finished filming at 3 plus, cos this was the last studio session for the show, and the studio had to be cleared by afternoon. Most of us nearly died of laughter due to a very funny scene (sorry but im not allowed to reveal it to anyone)… watch out for Calefare Episode 12 and you’ll know what I mean!! Or you can try asking Fiona… :-p
And don’t forget to watch the debut episode of ‘Calefare” this Saturday at 8.20 pm on Ch 5
Til then, hope to see u again sometime soon…
Best Wishes,
Tanat
P.S. I saw the interior of the studio set for “Little Nyonya” on my way back (cos the large door was open)… looks like a real kitchen I must say!
